Quick Start

Get up and running with Tidy Names in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through creating your account, setting up your organisation, and adding your first domains.

1. Create Your Account

Head to the registration page and sign up using your email address or Microsoft account. We'll send you a magic link to verify your email - no password needed.

2. Set Up Your Organisation

After signing in for the first time, you'll be prompted to create an organisation. This is the workspace where your team will manage domains together.

  • Give your organisation a name (e.g. your company name)
  • You can invite team members later from Settings

3. Add Your Domains

There are three ways to get domains into Tidy Names:

Option A: Connect a Registrar (Recommended)

The fastest way to get started is to connect your registrar account. This automatically imports all your domains and keeps them in sync.

  1. Go to Connections in the sidebar
  2. Click Add Connection
  3. Select your registrar (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Porkbun)
  4. Enter your API credentials
  5. Test the connection and save

Option B: Import from CSV

Upload a CSV file to bulk import domains from a spreadsheet or registrar export. Tidy Names automatically detects columns like domain name, expiry date, registrar, and renewal cost.

Option C: Add Domains Manually

You can also add individual domains by name. Tidy Names will look up public DNS and RDAP data to populate the domain details.

4. Explore the Dashboard

Once your domains are loaded, you can:

  • View all domains with status, expiry date, and renewal cost on the Domains page
  • Check Email Security (SPF, DMARC, DKIM) for each domain
  • Review Domain Protection (transfer lock, WHOIS privacy)
  • Organise domains with Tags
  • Monitor domains you don't own on the Watchlist
  • Set up Expiry Alerts to get notified before domains expire
