Domain Tags
Tags let you organise your domain portfolio with custom labels and colours. Use them to categorise domains by purpose, client, environment, or any grouping that makes sense for your team.
Creating Tags
- Go to Tags in the sidebar
- Click Create Tag
- Enter a tag name (e.g. "Production", "Client Sites", "For Sale")
- Select a colour for the tag
- Click Create
Tags are shared across your organisation - all members can see and use the same set of tags.
Assigning Tags to Domains
There are two ways to assign tags to a domain:
From the Domains Table
- Go to the Domains page
- Find the domain you want to tag
- Click the tag icon in the row's action column
- Check or uncheck tags in the dropdown to assign or remove them
From the Tag Detail Page
- Go to Tags in the sidebar
- Click on a tag to view its detail page
- Click Assign Domains to add domains to the tag
Filtering by Tag
On the Domains page, use the Filter by tag button to narrow down your domain list. You can select multiple tags to filter by - domains matching any of the selected tags will be shown.
Selected tag filters appear as dismissible pills above the table. Click the × on a pill or use the Clear button to reset the filter.
Managing Tags
From the Tags page you can:
- Edit a tag's name or colour
- Delete a tag - this removes the tag from all domains but does not delete any domains
- See how many domains are assigned to each tag
Tips
- Use consistent naming conventions (e.g. prefix with a category like "env:production", "client:acme")
- Colour-coding helps visually distinguish tags in the domain table
- Each domain can have multiple tags, so feel free to create overlapping categories
- For project or client-level grouping, consider using Portfolios alongside tags - each domain can have both tags and a portfolio assignment
Next Steps
- Portfolios - group domains by project, client, or brand
- Inventory - browse and filter your domains
