Three protocols that protect your email
Email authentication relies on three DNS-based protocols working together. A gap in any one of them can compromise deliverability or enable spoofing.
SPF
Sender Policy Framework
Defines which mail servers are authorised to send email on behalf of your domain. A missing or misconfigured SPF record means anyone can send email that appears to come from you.
DKIM
DomainKeys Identified Mail
Adds a cryptographic signature to outgoing emails so recipients can verify the message was not altered in transit. Tidy Names checks 12 common selectors including Google, Microsoft, and Mailchimp defaults.
DMARC
Domain-based Message Authentication
Tells receiving mail servers what to do when SPF or DKIM checks fail - quarantine, reject, or allow. Without DMARC, spoofed emails from your domain may still reach inboxes.
