Domain Transfers

When you move a domain from one registrar to another, the transfer tracker helps you monitor every step of the process in one place.

Adding a Transfer

  1. Go to Transfers in the sidebar
  2. Click Add Transfer
  3. Enter the domain name and the destination registrar (required). Optionally add the source registrar, an estimated completion date, and any notes
  4. Click Add

Tidy Names does not initiate the actual registrar transfer - you still do that through your registrar's own interface. The transfer tracker is a record-keeping tool so your team can follow progress.

Transfer Statuses

Update the status as the transfer progresses through these stages:

  • Initiated - the transfer has been requested
  • Auth Code Sent - the authorisation code has been sent to the gaining registrar
  • Pending Approval - waiting for the losing registrar to approve the transfer
  • In Progress - the transfer is actively processing
  • Completed - the domain has been successfully moved
  • Failed - the transfer was rejected or encountered an error
  • Cancelled - the transfer was manually cancelled

Dashboard Overview

The transfers page shows four summary cards at the top: Total Transfers, In Progress, Completed, and Failed. The table below lists all transfers with their domain, source and destination registrars, current status, and timestamps.
